If anyone has any ideas, or there's a different way to do this, I would appreciate some pointers. Can a Win10 boot partition really not be increased in size after initial install? That sounds … well, very Microsoftian, actually, but still pretty stupid, even for them. I don't see any way to move and/or delete the recovery partition. Hit apply, then you can use the tool to extend the main partition to include the empty space. There are older Questions on this topic such as this one. The documentation says that should change the resolution of guest VM. My Fusion preferences are set to the default, Resize the virtual machine and the window. and VMware Fusion in a MAC Environment Dual-Booting Mac and Windows. Use the tool to move the recovery partition to the end of the disk (click advanced settings on that partition, then change the free space after the partition to 0 - itll move it all to before the partition. When I go to System Preferences > Displays > Display > Resolution > Scaled, I see no other options but 1024 x 768. So, this may not be a Fusion thing, but I'm still stuck unable to increase the C:\ partition size. All you have to do is upgrade the drivers in Windows on your Boot Camp partition. Any ideas on how to fix I saw this for Ubuntu but thats not my OS. Thus, increasing the VM disk size gave me a new partition instead of increasing the size of the C: drive partition (which is what has happened with the Win7 VM's prior I've had to do this several times in the past prior to Win10). IT-support installed VMWare Fusion but I cant expand the VMware Fusion window to the full width of my laptop. Investigating why, I opened Disk Manager in Win10, and it shows four partitions: a 100MB "System Reserved", the 32GB C: drive, a 450MB Recovery Partition, and an unallocated 32GB partition, in that order. So enter 8 at the first step and than 4 or the other way around. IIRC it asks for the total of logical CPUs and than for the number of vCores which gives vCPU vCores vSocket. However, upon re-starting Win10, the disk size wasn't changed. Also the CPU config dialog within latest HTML5/WebClient have changed compared to the old Days. I ran out of room and needed to increase it, so I shut down the VM, opened Fusion Settings for it, and increased the disk size from 32GB to 64GB. I have a Win10 1709 VM that was sized at 32GB. Enter the virtual disk target size that you want to have not the size of the increment you want to add to the virtual disk. Fusion 8.5.3 on OSX 10.12.6, with a Win10 1709 VM. Run the command to expand a virtual disk from 20 GB to 30 GB.
